The atmosphere is just perfect in winter for a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. For two – propelled by living horsepower through the winter landscape – snuggled up close to one another and wrapped in warm blankets, it's a dream come true.

The Plough, the Milky Way and perhaps a planet too ... you might never have seen as many stars before as you can see here with us. Thanks to fewer artificial light sources, the nights in San Vigilio are dark. In the summer months, experts offer guided star gazing trips, whilst in winter the sky pool and 7th Heaven are the perfect places from which to scan the heavens!

There is a little beach on the Vigilio stream – a small oasis on the water situated at the heart of the Dolomites. Could anything be more romantic?

It may not be right on our doorstep, but without a doubt the so-called “blue heart of the Dolomites”, also known as the world’s loveliest lake, is well worth the trip or a longer cycle ride. Anyone who wants to can plan a day trip and head there on foot.
